The house lies at the foot of the heather clad Whita Hill - the view from the summit is spectacular on a clear day. There is a small stream which runs in the front and the birch woodland, scattered trees and open moors are a haven for birdlife. Langholm is only 4 miles with shops, restaurants and a 9 hole golf course, while Carlisle, 20 miles, Hadrians Wall and the Solway coast can all be reached very easily. The cottage provides comfortable, spacious accommodation with a traditional atmosphere.

Gilnockie Tower Cottage - Canonbie 

This charming cottage is situated only 150 yards from one of the most attractive stretches of the River Esk  and 2 miles from the pretty village of Canonbie. It is south facing with an open outlook across fields and beside a typical Peel Tower, a reminder of the turbulent history of the Borders. The cottage was a former ghillie's cottage, and the area provides excellent fishing. Outdoor sports of all kinds are well catered for, being good walking or riding country. The cottage is easily reached, only 15 minutes drive from Carlisle and the M6 .

Burngrains - Ewes, Langholm 

A beautifully situated former shepherd's cottage which nestles in a hollow in the hills with a stream tumbling past the end of  the enclosed garden. It is totally secluded, being approached by 1.25 miles of well maintained farm track, and out of site of any other house. Hills rise from the door and it is perfect for walkers or simply enjoying the peace. Despite its solitude it is only 10 minutes drive into the small market town of Langholm and is well placed for exploring the Borders, North Cumbria or the Solway coasts. The cottage provides comfortable, well equipped accommodation and care has been taken to retain much of the original character.
